Jubilee Honour Badge.

Although this massive (4 kilogram!) item seems like a plaque, its official name is Honored award badge "Winner of Socialist Competition" for Labor Collectives.

These were awarded to top organizations through the USSR, both labor and military. A few have surfaced recently..

Supposedly about 700 were made both at the Moscow Mint and at the Leningrad Jewelry Workshop. (mine is from the latter). Wife is horrified. ;)

Re: Organizational Badge "Winner of Socialist Competition 1922-1972".

A typical document and an award ceremony (from a different badge). It's heavy, I feel for the officer having to hold it up while a typical speech is given..
