All,

keep in mind that there exist copies of Yugoslavian Partisan Stars of 1st/2nd classes.

Couple years ago I bought complete set of the stars on eBay. At the time I knew very little about Yugoslavian awards and stars looked OK to me. They were slightly over $200 for the set.

Upon showing photos of the stars to other collectors I came to the conclusion that these were not real.

The differences were:
- different shape, details were slightly different from original,
- lack of class stamp on the reverse.

I am not sure I still have the photos, if I'll find them - they will be posted.

Well, at least the enamel looks perfect to me. It's not like those IIIrd Class made at IKOM Zagreb.

I agree with Bryan the enamel looks good with the color and depth only the Soviet mints seemed able to produce I would have to vote real on this piece

It looks all right to me and that's a low serial number. Too bad that many people saw it by now. Good luck! :thumbsup

Finaly I have one too- serial number from the first shipment...

It was the first piece I ever even heard of being for sale... So I checked If it's original and bought it.

The serial is in 1200 range.

This Partisan Satr 1st Class sold for $800 on eBay few days ago. I don't know what's the real market value, but it seems expensive.

I just returned from a two year tour of duty in Belgrade...I was a regular at the local numismatic club meeting...lots of militaria...I was pretty well connected there, but in that time I never, once saw a Partisan Star 1st class for sale. I saw several in collections, but none for sale. I think that 800 is about right on one of these. But, that is just my opinion, based on the local market there. Best.

Great to know! However this piece seems it was never issued. This Partisan star is so minty!

That's offen the problem with yugoslavian orders. A lot of orders on the market come from stocks that were never issued. For me it as less historic value when they are so. :(

You need to balance historic and intrinsic value due to rarity!
