I think these two names are supposed to mean the same, but because of translation they sound different. It all depends what source one uses.
I wish there would be standard reference (similar to McDaniel book) for Mongolian awards to end the confusion. William |

William,
Thank you. Which reference do you use, if not Herfurth's system? I've seen other references, but only on a couple of web sites  Best, Dolf |

This is again an interesting topic, remember the other thread on the Order for Civil Valor from a while back.
Dolf, if its any consolation I also go by the Herfurth system, three names, different time periods in Mongolian history = three Orders. This is of course my own personal preferance. If you notice Yuri for example uses different methods than Herfurth for some and not for others. As William says, I also wish there was one system for Mongolian awards. Maybe if there is any interest we could post any seen variations (sub-variations ?) We could then decide amongst ourselves what system to use for these Orders. What do you guys think? Order for Civil Valor, 1926-1940 No Ribbon Орден За гражданскую доблесть Variations (a) With assay stamps (b) With Mondwor, makers number and S/N (c) With Monetnyi Dwor and S/N Order of Labour Glory, 1940-1945 No Ribbon Орден Трудовая слава Variations as in Jans pics (a) With Monetnyi Dwor and S/N (b) With Monetnyi Dwor, makers numbers/marks and S/N Order of the Red Banner of Labour With Ribbon - Green/Red/Green Орден Трудового красного знамени Type 1, 1945-1970, S/N, Screwback Type 2, from 1970, S/N, Pinback Eddie.

I bought that one recently from a dealer on eBay! And it's quite a piece...beautiful and HEAVY! I love this order.
Here's a pic, and Vatjan, keep up the great work with that serial number list!

Wanted to share with you my latest. A pinback. Common. Cheap by modern standards. But you just look at the enamelwork!
The second scan is for those who are not into Mongolian (yet:D ), to compare with a common T6 Soviet labour order. Gives you an idea about the size of these things. Sergei |

Yes, a nice Type 2.1, the serial number would put it approximately into the 1976-77 period.

A really nice order; I have #3478. Does your's have a slight "rattle" (a little movement between the seal and the star)? Many of these seem to have that.
