Can you guys tell from these rather dark scans if this is an original one?

Auke,

I believe that this one is fine, apart from an apparently replaced link at top right.
Interestingly there is a mirror image of the digit '4' on the back, yet it doesn't show on the front :confused:

I am guessing they have recicled another badge or something like that. I have seen a bunch of screwplates for the WWII Otlichnik badges with mirror images of ... other badges.

Now that you mention it, it sounds reasonable. I've seen recycled soviet silver medals (especially that for Military Merit) used for Mongolian screwplates.
