Mongolian belts
No, I am not talking about the Grand Khaan [sic] Irish "theme pub" in Ulanbaatar (but it is nice, even though targeted on the expat community) . . .

Re: Mongolian belts
. . . I'm talking about these.
At present I have no clue as to what is what (though friends are asking about). |

Mongolian Post-1991 Air Force Officer's Belt.
Continuing the Belt Buckle theme, here is a post-1991 Mongolian Air Force Officer's Belt. The belt is a very nice quality. Got it delivered to my door for a total outlay of $2!

The belt buck with a horse head in the center of star is quite rare. The fabric material belt does not belong to the buckle. The buckle was used on a leather belt. It was a standard belt of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Army from 1943 till mid 1950s. Last edited by CtahhR; 04-18-2012 at 10:05 AM. |

I have a very rare belt buckle of the Mongolian officer. This buckle carries 1924 type Mongolian Coat of Arms (Soyombo on top of the lotus flower) in its center. It was in use by Mongolian People's Revolutionary Army officers from early 1930s till 1943. It used to be a part of a leather belt.
The photo of the Mongolian officers wearing this belt is illustrated in my book on page 22. Last edited by CtahhR; 04-18-2012 at 10:06 AM. |

Photo of Corps Commander Jamyan Lhagvasuren and Division Commander Tsend taken at Khalkhin Gol front line in August 1939. Lhagvasuren is wearing the belt with the identical buckle shown previously.

Re: Mongolian belts
Another better detailed photo of a Mongolian Ministry of Interior officer wearing the same belt (photo was shown somewhere else on this forum).
