Forum questions
1. OK, as you may or may not know, this forum has a numbering system for members. Its starts at 1 for the first member, 2 for the second member, 3 for the third member, and so on. Art is the first member, and Tal is the third, but what happend to the second member? There is no record of a second member ever being in the forum!!! And how come I am user 1005, when there are only 933 members?
2. What ever happened to SND 1.0? Last edited by willie777; 06-27-2007 at 01:27 PM. |

This must be trivia night for the forum!
If I'm not mistaken, user 2 was a test account I created when I was testing the forum. It was easier for me to create an administrators account and a registered members account, and simply log in under the registered members account when I wanted to see how something looked from a registered members access. After I was done, I didn't think that by deleting the ghost account I'd be upsetting the cosmic order of the forum This answers the other part of your question. I delete many accounts. Spam-bots register and when they can't complete the registration process (many are robots programmed to register on a forum, post a message, then go away to the next) they just sit there in their own special group which has no posting privileges. When I delete them, the user number is taken forever. At least I think that is right..we are talking about over 6 years ago Regarding SND 1, there are several threads on this forum that talk about it, but you can get the gist of it by reading through this FAQ: http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...ase-2-0-a.html Now, here's some trivia: A few years ago, I had a contest. Members had to find as many images of 3x winners of the Hero of Socialist Labor. The photos had to show the recipient, with his 3x bar of HSLs. The 100,000 Ruble question..what was the grand prize that went to the winner? (no fair looking to deeply into old messages on the forum. It might still be there)

It was definitely here, however I remember I had created a special temporary section for the contest only. I save all the images, but I'm afraid the contest chatter is gone..

OK. So far, my searches are proving inconclusive. All that my searches came up with is something about Dietrich Riemer?

Hmmm..O.K., I think we actually had 2 contests here..the first was won by Dietrich if I'm not mistaken..I don't remember the first contest, might have been a cash prize. The second was the 3x contest. Here is an image I took of the contest section with the first prize..notice the date
BTW correct Mozzabloke!

One of the contests Dietrich won, If i remember correctly he donated the cash prize to the forum in order to create a Bulgarian sub-section. The second contest must have been during the time I Iwas absent because I can't remember that one.
Eddie.
