Colonel Petko Nikolov Petkov.
Colonel Petko Nikolov Petkov (Полковник Петко Николов Петков) was apparently a high level Communist Party Of Bulgaria functionary.
His awards are; 1948-09-07 Order "People's Liberty 1941-1945" 2nd Class (Probably awarded on the 3rd anniversary of the "Fatherland Front" for participation in its creation) 1959-12-29 Order "9th September 1944" 1st Class With Swords and 2nd Class With Swords (Probably awarded for the 15th anniversary of the "Fatherland Front".) 1964-06-13 Order "People's Republic Of Bulgaria" 3rd Class (Probably for the 20th Anniversary of the "Fatherland Front") 1970-05-30 Order "People's Liberty 1941-1944" 2nd Class (Probably award for the 25th anniversary of victory over Germany) 1974-07-20 Order "People's Republic Of Bulgaria" 1st Class (Probably for the 30th anniversary of the "Fatherland Front") 1989-05 Order "Georgi Dimitrov" (Probably a 70th/75th/80th birthday present for a "life dedicated to communism" and judging by the hand writing this may well have been self awarded.) The case is a rather early case which may have been surplus or added at a later date by Petkov or a dealer.

Re: Colonel Petko Nikolov Petkov.
Looks like his Order "Georgi Dimitrov" was a 70th Birthday present as this interesting document has turned up on the Russian site.
Apparently Petkov was awarded a Order "Red Star" by Tsarist Bulgarian and not Soviet forces and had previously been awarded a Bulgarian Order "For Bravery" 4th 2nd (which has now joined the group less document). It does look as even though I did buy up the "meat" of the group there are more pieces out there. Medal "Patriotic War 1944-45" and the Soviet equivalent being just the tip of the iceberg I suggest.

Re: Colonel Petko Nikolov Petkov.
Here is his well worn (but not abused) Order "For Bravery" 4th 2nd.
