Table Medal "XV Winter Olympic Games Calgary 1988".

I purchased a few soviet olympic table medals (mostly Kalgary 1988, XV olympic winter games).
The medals are made at Leningrad mint (LMD-stamp) and were made out of brass. Some in better quality some in less quality. The boxes are made out of hard plastic with iron amplification at the rim.


Are they rare? How many were produced? To whom were they given?

You have different types of medals here, so I'll just address the Olympic ones:
. Soviet Union Olympic Committee: standard issue and game-specific issue. These are usually used as presents by the delegation officials for whatever purpose they may have.
. Soviet Union Olympic Team: these were given one to each actual participant of the Soviet Olympic team to the specific games. They are scarce, minted in the few hundreds.
