Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents.

Gentlemen,

Here's a fake temporary document for a Stalingrad medal. The document itself is genuine, but entries are fresh and made in modern hand writting.

The faint, multi-digit stamped serial number is the same as that seen on many fake NKVD IDs. Also note the general NKO stamp. Any doc like this is likely to have a specific unit or city voenkom stamp not the NKO stamp.

Shawn,

Good point. They could very well be from the same shop.

Off center!

Hi William,

Just my modest opinion,

The writing looks all off center to me, the small red stars are too big, the seals are usualy a lot clearer, the State Emblem looks Blurry and in all these type of award Doc,s that I have as reference either the last number or the last two numbers in the year of issue are hand writen not the last three.
It somehow all looks a bit sloppyly made, I,m by no means an expert and I can,t even read Russian but I would say that it a Fake.
It looks more like a Photo copy than an Award Doc.
All I can say is that if I was asked I wouldn,t buy it, even if it turns out to be Original.

Eddie

William,

I believe the document is a fake - it has a dark yellow color, like it was dipped in manganese solution; printing quality is bad; ink stamp is real sloppy; signature looks like somebody had tried it once or twice before signing this document; etc.

Thanks a lot for your opinions!

Actually the doc looks a better that it looks on the modified photo. Here's enlarged photo - signture looks better and I see the problem with the stamp.

As for the yellow color - that could be easily due to the quality of the scanner.

But yoy guys are right - if there are doubts - it's better to pass on the doc.

William,

The color is still bad - it may be distorted, but if you take the red letters as a point of reference, the background is still brownish. In my opinion the signature is not convincing.
