Badge Document for academy badge BBMY

I got this certificate with a badge for the highest naval acedemy. But is it real? I have never seen any papers with the badge before. The fact that there is no stamp makes me unsure about this one. Also there are no letters on the depicted badge. Ok, it must be cheeper to have just one paper for all. But getting a badge was a big deal, lots of years of training....

Real or fake? Anyone...

It's perfectly genuine. Missing stamp is not something very unusual for Soviet documents. As for missing letters on the badge, this was a standard type document for all schools, so they had to enter the name of the school by hand.

Thanks!:) I admit that I thought it was bad. But to be told otherwise in the "right" direction is great! Perhaps I'm a bit paranoid after the bad stuff I have seen.

How common are these "badge papers"? This is the first I see. I'm no super collector that have had 100-1000 of badges, but they are uncommon as far as I know. Or perhaps I should say uncommon in Sweden;)

Those document are not very common, but they don't mean much without the badge. A documented academy badge depending on the type can cost $50-150.

BTW, here's the badge that goes with your document.

It's too bad that so many badges are without the original documents.. I got my set for about 35$. I think a good deal is when you are happy with what you got, not what you paid.

Thanks for the pic! It looks just as nice as the one that came with the document.

I absolutely agree with you that the most important thing is to be satisfied with your purchase, but still at $35 it's not a bad deal :)

Great find Kim.

These docs are a good deal rarer than medal docs in my experience. I have never seen an academy award bage issued after the 1950s. Has anyone??

I have 5-6 documents in stock for different academies, all issued in the 1950s, and one in 1960.

What is the rarest badge of all the academies? My own guess would be the schools named after Stalin.

Perhaps we should make a rarity-key for academy badges;)

I believe there are about 80 variations of the academy badge, and the task of rating them would be very difficult. Some of the rarest ones are: Stalin Armored Academy; Molotov BATC; Voroshilov BBA; General Staff; etc.
