I had forgotten all about this thread. Here are my examples of this pattern. I enjoy collecting Osoaviakhim as their badges are colorful, historic and generally interest me. Even after 31 months in Georgia and trying my best, I only have these, 7-8 other badges and a handful of documents and one book. I do have one documented group that includes some Oso things, too.
Oh yeah, I also have that Oso building plaque that I once posted about. It didn't survive the trip home in, what was it, 2003? I was going to throw it out but my wife convinced me to put it -- broken in many pieces -- in our garden near some ancient Roman tiles and jug handles that I brought home. Now you can touch reminders of past glory, 2,000 years apart, right in one corner of our very own garden. It was a good idea. Thanks for the reminder, Danny. My pleasure Chuck. I am including a scan of the screw now. There are numbers on it. Would these be a serial number of the badge?

ID please?
Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, anyway here it goes. Can any of the Badges experts please confirm if this is a Soviet Chemical Defense Preparedness Badge? If not, can someone please help to correctly identify it? Also if this isn't the CDP Badge, could someone post a pic of one of these please? Thanks, Dolf Last edited by Dolf; 10-09-2005 at 08:40 PM. |

Hi Dolf,
you are right. The badge is a Soviet Chemical Defense Preparedness Badge. Ready for PVKhO, circa 1930s. The badge shows an airplane at the top, a gas mask, a searchlight, and a flak gun. It is a badge for the “Society for the Promotion of Aviation and Chemical Defense”). regards Andreas |

Guys,
According to "Badges of Defense Societies of the USSR", Ekaterinburg, 2002, there were at least 15 variations of PVKhO badges on suspension, but I know of at least three more not mentioned in the book. This badge was produced by the million, so variations were bound to happen. Alexei |

Osoaviakhim Voroshilov marksmans badge
Here is a badge that I obtained locally here in England. I met an RAF Vet at a show and he kindly sent me this badge. I sent him a few drinks in return :thumbsup
What with it being serial numbered, are these re-searchable? Cheers, Ade.

Re: Osoaviakhim Voroshilov marksmans badge
Bringing this old thread back to the top, as I have just obtained another one of these badges which I though I would share with the forum.
Cheers, Ade.
