Advice on Cleaning a Visor Cap?
Hello All-
Haven't posted a while. Hope everyone's well. I have a new question for the experts. I just got a beautiful 1974 Army General's "walking-out" cap with extended embroidery. It is in nice shape overall. It is a bit dirty on top (just discoloration, not really small stains) and I was wondering if it is possible to clean it without damaging the color or fabric. I don't want to trust the dry cleaners with it! I welcome all advice. Thanks! |

Re: Advice on Cleaning a Visor Cap?
I use mild soap and water on a sponge to gently rub off spots from visor caps. It usually works quite well. Then allow the cap to dry :) Don't leave it to dry cleaners.

Benzene does the job without damaging the fabric.

"Benzene" as in the Russian word for gasoline?

Re: Advice on Cleaning a Visor Cap?
By the way, that tip was given to me by the curator of a local uniform museum...
