Medal "For Participation In The War Of Defence 1939".

(Medal Za Udzial w Wojnie Obronnej 1939)

This medal was instituted by act of Parliament on July 7th, 1981. It was awarded to veterans of the Polish Army, Frontier Corps, members of National Defense and of other groups defending Poland in September/October 1939.
It is a silver medal 40 mm in diameter. The obverse has the year 1939 above is a crowned eagle. The reverse has the inscription ZA UDZIAL / W / WOJNIE / OBRONNEJ / OJCZYZNA (for participation in defense war, the Country) the last line is separated by two flatly crossed swords.
