Re: how to...?
Are they all the same, or roughly the same, thickness?
If so you could cut circles out of a sheet of perspex, wood or card and put the medals inside the cut-outs. Simon |

Re: how to...?
I'm sure they make double-view frames (front and reverse) because of things like baseball cards and I've seen them for photographs (glass on each side). You may have to get something like that custom made at a local frame/crafts shop.

Re: how to...?
the 2 of them is the same thickness, 3rd one is a little bigger. I think perspex gonna damage the bronze. I f I make a sandwich.
I thought , I can order a deep frame. The top side of the frame will be removable. So I can put acrylic coin stands and put the medals in. But I couldn't found one.

Re: how to...?
The only other thing I can think of is taking them to a frame shop and letting them make you a custom standing frame from plexiglas so that you can leave it out and not worry about someone (like kids) knocking it over.

Re: My Medal Displays
Nicely done. I like the felt backing behind the screwbacks. I may swipe the idea and redo a couple of my displays.

Re: Fake Orders of Labor Glory
I no longer have some of these medals. I returned 2 to the Hero's next-of-kin, and gave one away (NOT sold!!!) to a deserving collector who could not afford one. I had two Type 1 HSUs on Type 2 suspenscions at one time. Held Choibalsan's Hero Star in Mongolia, serial number 2. These medals represent alot of very sad stories. Tried to give back the Cavalier set but the family told me to keep it.
There is a HSU on evay and the seller wants $9K. Save your money. It doesn't look right, especially the serial numbers. |

Storing medals
Hello
I am new to soviet medal collecting and to the forum. I have been storing the few medals that I have in plastic sleeve envelopes that I keep in a jewellry box. I am curious if storing medals in plastic envelopes is a good way to store them or are there other alternatives that are better. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Storing medals
I have found Eric's advice/recommendation about a binder with plastic sheets with six sleeves per sheet - three across in two rows, very useful for storage - not display. (see below)
The last picture is a fairly recent piece I picked up through a catalog and it has provided a home for many a wayward badge, document or other assorted Soviet items. More about that in the next post. Check out Eric's Youtube helpful hints. They are very useful. Phillip
