Parade Admiral uniform: question

I have a little question concerning Admirals parade uniform:

I saw a few photos with Admirals wearing black parade uniform (like this one) and also a white parade cap (summer). Does this comply with the regulations?

tunic/cap

yes, the white cap would be worn in summer parade with the black tunic.

It actually looks better than the all black sets.

BTW another question: when was worn the complete (cap + trousers + tunic) white summer parade uniform? some "special" events?

Re: Parade Admiral uniform: question

I'm going to hijack this one because I found one for sale that looks remarkably like the first one pictured in this thread. Not that I have the money or inclination to buy the expensive beauty, but I just wanted to see if it was the real deal.

Only the ORS is real and most of the medals are as well, but they are just there for show according to the seller. Would they be worn down the lapel like they are in the pictures for this particular tunic? The double-breasted uniforms always confuse me on that point. It does look very nice at least.

Re: Parade Admiral uniform: question

The shoulder and cuff insignia. I've never seen the black thread "rays" before either.

Re: Parade Admiral uniform: question

Devalcourt,

the medals would be worn diagonally until the late 1970s, and then horizontally. I think that set is made up though, some medals have the wrong ribbons and the very high ranking awards on the right breast does not really work with the combination of medals on the left side.

The tunic itself is OK though and very nice :thumbsup

I agree with Tretov. The set is kosher.

No mistake guys, I like the uniform. I always thought the navy got the best deal as far as uniforms in the USSR (perhaps still). And I don't really care about the orders and medals on this piece themselves, I just wanted to confirm that this was an authentic piece of cloth, and that is what you did. Thank you.:D

Re: Parade Admiral uniform: question

"black thread rays" on this are known as the Nakimov star. Navy line got these while naval air generals and other non-line generals got conventional general stars and epaulets.
