Commemorative Medal "For Construction Of The Gas Pipeline "Union"".

The Commemorative Medal was issued to commemorate the construction of the Soviet Gasline. The questions:

1. How many were issued?

2. Could someone put a scan of the document?

Tal,

Interesting Medal. I have never seen it before and so know nothing about issue numbers or documents. As for the first question. I am sure that it was basically a political issue. The BAM was simply a higher priority project under the five-year plans. It was also much higher profile and received a huge amount of public attention.

This one was sold recently too together with the smaller Commemorative Medal. It also has something to do with the pipeline I would imagine.

Taz,

The small badge on the left is actually a 1985 Youth Festival badge, and has nothing to do with the pipeline.
