What I think al-muell is saying is that the rows in this case, because of the type of uniform and time period, are arranged diagonally, as oposed to horizontially.
I think that it would look coolest with 3 orders--say, an OGPW and 2 Red stars. I realize that even if you used a 85 issue OGPW and 2x postwar stars you are talking $75, but 3 badges would look a bit wierd I think. After all, its a parade uniform. |

Thanks Tim,
I understand now. UI didn't know that rows could be diagonal. So, I guess the best option would be to put 1 OGPW 2nd class from WWII and 2 RS... I have no choice! Don't want a 1985 OGPW on a M55 uniform. It will cost a bit more but will be more beautiful and more realistic! Thanks Al-muel and Tim for the teaching! |

A WWII OGPW will definately look better, but will cost at least $75 I imagine. But, its only money

According to 1958 reg's badges go in horizontal rows (what is visible only on pictures - they don't say it in the text), while the orders go in diagonal rows. I think they canged it in 80's |

Yes, it's just money! I already bought an air force dagger and some medals for the left breast to complete the set. |

Yes, it will be a pleasure so share some pic when I have something to show. I will also need to buy some display glass frames same kind as some members have already posted on the forum.
It's a pity to let the collection in boxes unable to enjoy viewing it all at once. (And thanks to DougD for the nice uniform and the dagger!) So, just to continue on this thread, I also have 4 medals to put on the left breast and just want to confirm I am going to attach them properly. They are: - Combat Service - Victory over Germany - Capture of Berlin - 30 years of Soviet Army I verified and they are in the right order of precedence. But as far as I know and understand, they should go on a diagonal line starting with the combat service at the bottom and then going up diagonally and ending with the 30 years of SA, right? Medal Bars
Hi, i'm new here, and i thought i better start by posting a couple of my medal bars. From the few people ive talked to, the first bar with the bravery medal is a put-together, but that doesnt bother me too much. Let me know what you think.
Thanks! Sam. |

Welcome to the club :)
Even if made up, the various parts are all still interesting and genuine, and still look cool on a uniform to the observer. A fine start to your collection, and welcome to the addiction. |
