Looks like a spot of solder. I'd guess it was from repair rather than production ...

I've seen where the letters have managed to get knocked off the main piece probably from a weak soldering job

Hello Cleber,

it cannot be wartime, because this concave reverse Order of the badge of honor was awarded from around the 50ies on. If it should be a wartime OBH, then you have to look out for an early flatback-version.

Hope, this helps a bit.

best regards
Gerd

Cleber,

In my language, the red spots are most definitely rust marks :D. And I concur on the 1980's datation.

Order of the Badge of Honor (new collector)

Hello there,

This is my first post, and I am also new to Russian medals - just dipping my toes in and seeing how deep I'm going to go. I have been prowling this forum for a while and am very glad of all the knowledge here, and on the main site too - thank you.

I thought I'd post my latest purchase (assuming my file attaching goes well!) - I don't have a big budget at all, so am picking up cheaper options right now - and would be grateful for your input.

I am presuming this is a Type 4 variation 2 of the Order of the Badge of Honor, would I be correct? Is there a date attributable? 1980s?

Many thanks indeed.
