Badge "Veteran Of The Karelian Front".

This seems to be some kind of veterans organization badge or similar, based on the medal "For defense of Soviet polar regions".

Have anyone seen it before, or in use? Any suggestions when it was issued?

Tretov,

I've seen that badge a couple of times; it seems to be a genuine veteran commemorative badge.

Re: New veteran badges for my collection

And this is the 3rd one of the group. This is to a Veteran of the Karelian Front. I've been wanting this badge for a long time so really nice to finally have it in my collection. What's interesting about this badge and document is that they don't match. The Karelian Front has two distinct badges and documents. I have a document that matches this badge that was awarded to another individual so it would be interesting to know why they are mixed up. Probably won't ever know the answer to that question but hopefully someday I'll know what the reasoning was for two different badges.

Well that's it for this month, I'll post more sometime in August. Thanks for checking out my collection.

Two possibilities - seller simply matched up disparate badge to doc or more likely, the vet organization ran out of its original stock of badges (the one shown on the doc) and ordered a new set of badges through a separate contract. The vet organization then used its stockpile of earlier printed docs for the original run of badges and presented it with the later run.

Docs are cheaper to manufacure than badges and overages were probably ordered anticipating replacements, mistakes upon filling them out, etc. so thus my explanation.
