Hello, I was offered today this small documented group for sale and I was wondering if you see anything wrong with it. It comes from Lithuania. I was also wondering what would be a fair price to pay for such group.
Thanks in advance for any recommendation. I'm still thinking what to do with my birthday money.

It's a long service group to an artillery repair officer. It's nice, and complete, but I felt it was too expensive when it was offered to me earlier. I'd say that $550 would probably be "retail" on this group (I'm often low, so I'll defer to others who are more current on their prices, but that's my opinion...) His 1st Red Star, OGPW1 and OGPW2 are wartime pieces for probably recovering and/or repairing equipment, and his Military Merit, 2nd Red Star and Red Banner are his 10, 15 and 20 year service awards.

I'd pick it up for $550 with no second thoughts.
I would say that a fair price would be in the $700 range. Rusty.

Very nice group with an "wartime" OGPW 1st and 2nd class and a RB.
I would pick it up. regards Andreas |

That's not too bad of a price. It was offered to me for much more, which I balked at. As I see it: Red Banner: $100 OGPW 1: $250 OGPW 2: $50 Red Star: $40 Red Star: $20 Other medals: $60 total So, $520 total in parts, plus a "group" premium, so $665 isn't that bad. That is, of course, unless I'm way off in my prices - which is always possible! Dave |

I thought the gold rays on the OGPW 1 were supposed to be solid gold--they look to have been gold plated on the one in this group. Am I wrong?

Yes, they are supposed to be solid gold, and these do appear to be just that. I think the patina may just make them look a bit odd, but I don't see anything wrong with them. Dave |
