A very well known member of the forum posted a group for sale, and in it, a sach, given to a distinguished visitor of a city.
I think it was a common practise, to honour some visitors. However, it is the first time I saw it in a group. Do YOU have something like this?

Veterans' Sashes.
Veterans' Sashes seem to have been completely overlooked in the last 12+ years of the forum's existence. They are somewhat similar in purpose to the Veterans' Badges seen in the book by Paul J. Schmitt (plug! plug!) but not the usual coin like shiny bits of metal.
Many Parades throughout the ages and (former) Soviet regions feature these being worn with pride. Quality, design and purpose vary wildly but they always remind me of the French Revolution. Firstly we have a professionally made Sash for Veterans of the 6th "Orel-(Greater)Hingan" Rifle Division. It is around 2 metres in length (over 2 yards).
