Officer's Identification.

I was certain that there was a thread for officers' service IDs, but can't find it, so I put this one in a new thread.

This ID was issued in 1942 and is a bit more rare version (most had red covers). This one has the first page removed and a temporary ID glued in its place. The temporary ID identifies the owner, sr. lt. Sergei Borisovich Kazakov as a student in the Cemichal Defense Academy, while the rest of the document identifies him as deputy commander of the separate Chemical Company of the 113 Rifle Div. since january 1941

Re: Officer's ID

Born in 1918, living in Novocherkask in Rostov Oblast.

Issued a Nagant revolver - there's a note about the revolver being returned to the Chemical Company, but with no date - probably when he was sent to the academy?

Re: Officer's ID

According to podvignaroda, Kazakov was awarded a CSM for his direct involvement in combat in late 1941 and early 1942 as well as keeping the company ready for chemical defence.
He also got his OPW2 in 1985.
