Short description of his feat of arms or accomplishments:

In September 1942 he took part in the fighting for the Sancharo Mountain Pass. Marching conditions were extremely severe and all medical equipment was delivered to the operating unit. The wounded received expert surgical assistance in a timely manner and with his help the wounded were quickly evacuated. During the fighting in January 1943 for the villages of Grigoryevskaya and Novo-Dimitrovskaya he deployed his surgical platoon in Stavropolskaya. Under his guidance and by him personally expert surgical assistance was provided to 600 wounded soldiers, including 350 severely wounded soldiers, in a short period of time. For his excellent guidance and his duties he is being nominated for the Order of the Red Star.

Short description of his feat of arms or accomplishments:

During the fighting with the division cleansing the left bank of the Dnieper and during the fighting in Belorussia, in spite of the bad roads and lack of transportation to rapidly deploy and perform the operations, thanks to the correct placement of staff he ensured the timely treatment of the critical wounded from all of the incoming cases, sometimes up to 450 people per day. Besides managing the platoon, as a leading surgeon he himself worked in the operating room for 3 days without rest and in June alone operated on 23 seriously wounded who had been on the brink of death, with favourable outcomes. He also removed 12 seriously wounded from severe states of shock. He introduced a technique of vascular suturing that wasn’t practised in any other medical section of the Army and thanks to this saved the upper and lower limbs of officers and soldiers in 15 cases. He personally supervised the sorting of the wounded during their arrival and evacuation. With his assistance, of the number of lightly wounded patients that were returned to the formations since January is numbering more than 1000 soldiers. He prepared and trained 6 qualified operating nurses. For the exemplary delivery of work in the operating and dressing platoon, for excellent performance with the volume of work and for the preparation and training of the medical personnel, Physician 3rd grade Chubinidze Pimen Nesterovich is deserving of the governmental award, the Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class.

Short description of his feat of arms or accomplishments:

In the fighting of our division in East Prussia for the Cities of Gumbinsi, Gerdetsen and Friedland he quickly organized the work of the platoon and provided skilled surgical care to the wounded in a timely manner.

In addition to the organization and management of all surgical work he himself operated on 48 wounded in the abdomen, 34 of them were successful amongst the 37 given blood transfusions and blood products. He devoted much attention to the evacuation of the wounded to their destination, as well as to the issues of quicker restoration of health to the lightly wounded and returning them to service.

For the excellent organization and management of the surgical work and for the large amount of surgical work carried out with positive results being accomplished Captain of the Medical Service Chubinize Pimen Nesterovich deserves the Governmental award, the order of the Patriotic War 1st Class.
