I,ve had a look in some old Catalogs that I had in the shelves. There is some Tiny pictures of your Patches in Black and White. For the shoulder Patch there was no description only that it,s from the Berlin Brigade. For the arm/sleeve badge it says Berlin Brigade, for Soviet Military Forces serving in Germany, old form. So not just for Berlin? Because it,s Black and White I can,t tell if It,s the same Colour or not but the writing in the middle is different. Next Badge on the page is the same shape and has the same picture in the middle but there is no outer ring with wording, and it says below Berlin Brigade New Russia, Does this Brigade still exist? Probably more Questions than answers but I,ll keep looking. Eddie

It appears to be a patriotic/fantasy patch.

No sense!
I thought my feeble attempt at Russian wouldn,t be much help so check this out.
On the site of a large American Dealer in the section Books on Collectibles of the USSR & Communist Bloc there is a book on offer. "Cloth Sleeve Insignia of Russian Armed Forces" 1998. A detailed guide to sleeve patches and shoulder flashes of modern Russian forces. English and Russian text. On the front cover bottom row the left Picture is the Badge with the words in Russian that I was trying to copy. This Badge is the one in my old Catalog. Maybe one of the Forum users has this Book that would surely help. Eddie

To all,
The tabs/patch in the photo are legit. The tabs above the patch read "Berlin Brigade" and the patch itself bears the words "Western Group of Forces." The statue in the middle of the patch is the war memorial statue located in the Soviet military cemetery in the Treptow district of Berlin, Germany. Slava is referring to the one in the photo. The first one posted is not legit, it is fantasy. The patch says something like "association of patriotic units". It is an attempt to copy the rare original one worn for the "goodby Berlin" parade.
