This is a beautiful poster I bought back in the early 1990's. It's big, approximately 4' x 4' ( sorry metric folks, I'm still stuck on avoirdupois ) consists of 2 sections. Sorry for poor quality of pictures. They are from a digital camera were overcompressed. Original poster is nice and crisp.

When I originally bought I thought, cool...I'm going to frame it and put it on my wall. Then someone told me the colors will eventually fade if I keep it exposed to light. Now it sits rolled up in a cardboard shipping tube in the dark :(

posters

Does anyone know of the collectability of a full set of soviet uniform posters from 1989. The pictures on these posters were used in a soviet uniform book that I recently purchased. They are a full set.
Any info would be helpful!:)

Timmey,

Posters are a hard sell. Unless they are the super-rare art-type posters of the 1930's, I think the best way to buy or sell them would be EBay. While I'm sure they exist, I'm not aware of any collectors that specifically collect this type of poster. You might want to appeal to the collector of Soviet uniforms.

Good Luck..

Thanks Art!
I have been reading your forums on medals and orders. I have been collecting for 15 years but I feel out of place here. When I read your posts along with Tal and the others I feel pretty ingorant about what is being discussed! I thought I knew some stuff but I apparently dont know as much as I thought. I will buy Mcdaniels book though!:D

Well, sharing information and improve our knoladge are the main focus here. McDaniel's book will give you a lot of info. But beware - the hobby is addictive, and you show the simptoms....;)

My main focus is military (IE: Uniforms, weapons & equipment along with everyday medals worn on uniforms),I do have some medals and orders from WWII that I will probably be asking you guys about. I do have the bug bad, and I want to start collecting more medals with Documentation.

Timmey,

Best way to learn is hang out and ask questions..we were all there before and know the basics. Getting McDaniels book is a great idea. You won't regret it.

Thanks Guys!
I was looking on the original site where I got this link from and I have many of those medals: Red Banner, Order Of The Great Patriotic War (1st & 2nd), Order Of Red Banner Of Labor, Red Star,Badge of Honor (W/Documentation), Stalingrad, Leningrad, along with many others. I am going to check to see what variants I have; so I guess I'm on my way to learning more about medals.

I do not see any mention of service pins in any forums, (IE: airborne jump badges, naval ship or submarine service pins, long service pins, combined arms pins, military school pins, pilots pins, etc.....), I have a substantial collection of these...does anyone collect them? :D :D
