Gentlemen
I have just obtained an excellent book from Israel titled
Under Fire.The stories of Jewish Heroes of the Soviet Union
By Gershon Shapiro.
It was first published in Israel in 1982 in Russian .This edition in English was produced in 1988.It covers the careers of 150 of the 154 Jewish winners of the HSU.Material on four,Abramovich,Osipovich,Mikhaylovich and ********ich was not available.The book is hard cover ,645 pages (Munroe there is 17 pages on Dragunski!) and cost me US$21 posted to Australia.
At that price I'm sure it will be of interest to all collectors of Soviet awards and not just those who collect HSU's.Details of publisher:
