Medal "For Dedication".
Good Day to ALL,
Here are the data for this medal: Measurements taken from 3 medals Diameter: 38mm +.15 -0 Weight: 22g, +/-0.5 Small connecting ring diameter: 5.6mm +/- .1 Thickness: Varies greatly all around the medal between 2.1 to 2.6 mm Top of cog gear: Varies greatly between 5.40 to 6.1mm Bottom distance between cog gears: Varies greatly between 4.3 to 4.8mm - The silver color plating/paint (s) is applied to the cog on the left side of the medal. It is also applied on the rim of the medal and the reverse of the small connecting ring. The cut out betwen the cogs is not plated/painted. - The medal seems to have a bronze color plating on both sides. I am not sure what the base metal is, but it looks like a nickle alloy. Medal for Selflessness, 1982-1992
Medal for Selflessness, 1982-1992 is the correct name for this Medal although often incorrectly referred to as Self-Sufficiency Medal.
The base metal is Brass with silver plating on the left cogwheel edge. Eddie

This is, I believe, a rough analogy to the Soviet Order of the Badge of Honor.
There is a long tradition of medals for "selflessness", dating back to the monarchy. Actually, a better translation of Qadakari Medal might be Dedication Medal. The Sadaqat Medal (Honesty [~Selflessness] Medal) is something completely different. |

Re: Medal "For Dedication".
Here is a rather tidy example of the Medal "For Dedication". Very much along the style of an award from the DPRK.
