The top shelf

Just curious (and just trying to restore some sense of community):

What is the "top shelf" of your ready-at-hand reference sources?

Here's mine.

Good idea Ed!

Here's my bedroom reading list:

And there's some more hidden in the reading room :-) (excuse the mess)

Re: The top shelf

Mess? What mess?!

Some of mine dwell in bookshelves, but most in chaotic stacks, just waiting to fall over. Or, sad and lonesome, in storage.

Re: The top shelf

Books have a nasty habit of reproducing. Here is the medal/uniform section of my book case, Billy from IKEA of course - anything else would be blasphemy in Sweden. Some well known titles and some less common.

Re: The top shelf

I can't even get far enough back in my "office" to take photos of bookshelves because I've got so many "in the works" order, medal and badge displays strewn about on the floor that I can barely move around the room.

The fact is, I have reference material in various places in every room of my house. Nonetheless, I seem to remember where everything is.

Re: The top shelf

If two of any items is hoarding I could not be described as anything but a hoarder. Most of my "habit" of buying more than one of any particular item traces back to vinyl records. I would always get a back up just in case one got scratched, sat on, dropped, melted or something else fun so now on top of having a 5 figure record collection I also have many thousands of awards with many of them popping up more than once. Sometimes the same book will be purchased more than once due to the fact that one could get used to death (I've used a few books until they gave up before) or the price is just too good to pass.
