Mystery NKVD prison abbreviation

I received a researched, catch-up WWII Bravery Medal.

Post-war, this particular individual was serving as an NKVD "prison guard overseer" (nadziratel'
).

There is the abbreviation, "I T K" or "I TK", apparently the prison organization to which this individual was assigned.

The actual unit is "I TK - 4" and it was situated in western Uzbekistan.

Anyone have any ideas as to what "I T K" stands for?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Mystery NKVD prison abbreviation

Based on the context you mentioned I'd say Исправительно-трудовой комплекс. ITK is also Исправительно-трудовой кодекс.

Probably not a good place to be, especially as a "guest".

As we say in the military when something really sucks - "It builds character."

Re: Can't read it/Can't find it in a dictionary!

Working on some newly acquired documents. I am starting with a baker from the 48th Army.

A couple of bits have me beaten. Could anyone please help?

Fragment 1/1 - I have this as Artillery Regiment 399th Rifle Division действующей 48th Army. How does действующей (act; work; operate; function; etc) fit in?

Fragment 1/2 - I have this as "food engineer"?

Fragment 2 - This item on his medal list seems to read "медаль за выполнен боевого Задания" or Medal for accomplishing a combat mission". Is this another name for the Combat Service Medal?

As always any help appreciated

Simon

Re: Translation Help

What does this say? It seems to read "Саша папес на Машу" or something like that but it doesn't make sense to me.
