To the issue of prices in Russia vs prices in the US.

On one of the Russian collector sites a member put several awards for sale. They had some sort of auction where seller annonced his starting prices and invited interested parties to e-mail him with the offers, finally selling to the highest bidder.

First price in parentheses is opening price - next one is the final price:
1) Hero Soc Labor - #31** ($450-450).
2) Mother Hero - #38*** plus Order Book with Voroshilov signature ($80-90).
3) Red Banner Labor 1928, #1*** ($4500-5000).
4) Red Banner, screwback #44*** ($100-100) some enamel damage.
5) Red Banner screwback, #3** (2nd award) - $200-800 - enamel damage.
6) Ushakov medal #11*** ($200-200).

All awards were sold to the same bidder.

This is the same web dealer that sells Red Stars at $50-60.

I bet he'll never sell Lenin at this price, at least not at eBay...

I believe he had sold at least two of them, and he has another one for sale right now, same ridiculous price.

Here's another overpriced Labor Glory 3cl type 2 on eBay with the opening bid of $49!!!

Yes, high price, BUT look at the Ordenskaya Knizhka, it is one of the last types from the last years of the USSR.

I don't see many OK of this type.

I agree that late Order Books are rarer.

But still - with 360,000 3rd class Labor Glories issued, huge quantities of common 2nd type and non-combatant nature of this award - opening price of $49 is on the the very top of high range.

What's so special about this order book then?

I'm interested I have this one of these, for an OLG 2nd class issued in 1983. I also have the OLG 3rd class for this lady issued in 1974, but that has a different cover.

Hi

It is not SO special, but there are at least 8 variants of the Ordenskaya Knizhka, and this is type 7. There is a place for ONE award only, and you can see the different design of the cover as well.

There is a variation in bright red, and in Brownish-red as well.

I recently noticed an increase in the price for the medal "for development of virgin land", and the medal for the defence of kiev.
