Dolf,
I appreciate your confidence in me, but besides being a dealer, I simply do not have nearly as much knowledge and experience as Paul. He mentions over 300 Suvorov 2nd Classes. Wow! Alexei |

Since I have collected Soviet awards, the best thing that I could have purchased was Mr. McDaniel's and Mr. Scmitt's Soviet Orders and Medals book. In fact, I've learned a lot of information from members of this forum regarding orders, medals, and badges, and for that I am very grateful for the generosity of all who contribute to this forum.

It's not only my confidence, I'm sure it's a consensus in the hobby community! But I know your reasons, as mentionned earlier on this thread on a reply to another fellow member, and I fully understand your position, by also dealing with these Soviet awards. Anyway, if you started doing authentication (obviously in case it wouldn't be ethically uncompatible with the fact of you being a dealer) I'm sure in a short time you also would have handled plenty of Suvorovs and other similar pieces, with all the demand from collectors and dealers... Btw, aren't you thinking of retiring from your dealer job in the near future?... This way there would be no uncompatibility! I'm just kidding Best, Dolf |

I hope I didn't reveal nothing that shouldn't be revealed (sorry very much if I did, Paul "desantnik" ) as I believe it was mentionned before in other posts on the Forum! Yes, it seems you are "too much in my own business..." and don't pay attention enough to some details posted and mentionned... Best, Dolf |

COAs
Quote:
Probably nobody (or not too many people) have the same experience as PMD. With years of doing this the experience comes. We (I my self) believe in your honesty, knowledge and experience (yes, less than Paul's, but much more than most of other collectors). Also, I still cannot figure out, where is the conflict of interest? Why cannot you be a dealer and do COAs at the same time? If somebody does not trust you, it is his issue. Many people from Russia would not even consider COAs from Paul / US. So what? If somebody sends a medal / order for your Certification, it means that this person trusts you and your opinion, and would respect your COA. If others don't, it's their problem. In the first place, I would like to send the order for COA, to know (at least 99% ) that the order is original. It is just my opinion. Eric. Last edited by ericlida; 01-06-2006 at 06:10 PM. |

Christophe,
Thanks, buddy! Guys, You know that I am always willing to help to the best of my ability, but like I said I am not Paul. Dixie! Let's wait and see what Paul has to say, I am sure he is busy settling down after coming back and some R&R probably wouldn't hurt him either, but I am sure he will be getting back to us. Alexei |

Isn't that the case for us all learning new things everyday, thanks to this great Forum and all these wonderful and knowleageble people who take their time to help us on improving? Thank you very much guys! Quote:
I just can't deny IMHO that after Paul Mc Daniel he would be the best person for the job, because of the confidence I have on his knowledge, so who knows, maybe one day he will retire from his dealer job and then... then I'm sure I'll be the 1st one to beg him for the job Cheers, Dolf |
