Thanks for the info and responses. Great tradition and I'll watch for it in other movies.
All my personal medal awardings and promotions seem boring in comparison. (Except for the one where my commander pinned on a meritorious service medal and murmured "with thanks from a grateful nation" which made me wonder if I'd died and missed it.)

I showed this picture to my digital photography class a few months ago, one of the students actually was a sniper in the British Army, I asked them what was odd about this picture and not one of them spotted that the image had been horizontally flipped in Photoshop tut, tut.

On another matter, did anyone notice the shameful Telnyashka's used in 'Stalingrad'? Couldn't the wardrobe department find any real ones to use? dark blue necks?

This is not good at all for a sniper...
I spotted that one and i'm not a connoisseur of firearms and have generally not so good observation skills!

The 1910/30 Maxim in "Enemy At The Gates" was actually made in 1944. Not a lot of people know that!
