Commendation Document.

Here's a rather interesting twist on the commendation documents. This unit combined people's commendations together into one convenient booklet, instead of having to carry around a stack of the paper certificates.

Several interesting notes for this booklet-

First, it was printed on captured paper (you can see the writing for a German postcard on the reverse) meaning that it was probably made when the unit was on occupation duty in Austria.

Second, this fellow was the disbursing officer for the unit. At the end of the War, he was a Senior Lieutenant. When he retired 12 years later, he was a Captain! Obviously didn't please someone!
