Lieutenant Lapko, F.G. positioned in the section from June 1942 showed himself as an organised commander, capable of quick development. Performing combat tasks from 10th October to December 1942 on the personal train of the Volhov Front Lieutenant-General Mehlis.
From 8th December 1942 to February 1943 performed combat tasks of the Kalinin Front accompanying the military echelons of transport and sanitation trains showing bravery and skill struggling with Fascist air raids.

From 26th February to 10th March 1943 was on the personal train of Major-General Kovalev.
For this period the platoon repulsed 23 enemy air raids not allowing destruction or damage to personal staff.
For performing combat tasks of higher commanders and combat merits is presented for a Governmental Award.

As well as being awarded a second, unnumbered Medal "For Combat Merits" in the previous booklet, he was awarded a very early Medal "For Impeccable Service" 2nd Class by Order#110 of 31st January 1958, by which time he was a Major in the 696th Zenit-Rocket Regiment.
