A heavy, seldom seen badge commemorating XXV years of an engineering troops detachment...

A nicely-designed one. But the medallion looks a bit Bulgarian.

I think a Bulgarian badge would read "XXV Години" so ""XXV Лет" seems correct for a Soviet badge. XXV anniversary would likely make it 1960s..

The bridge is the same as one in the "Excellent Road Builder" proficiency badge; the crossed shovel and PPSH at bottom is the same as that in the "Excellent in Military Construction" badge..
Any idea what the round object in the center of the badge represents?

I didn't say it's Bulgarian, just that it looks similar to Bulgarian badges in the way enamel/paint stays at the same level than the "engarving on the badge. Sorry for being unclear.

The object in the center is the Construction troops emblem - as on their collars and sleeve patches (2nd row, 2nd from right).
