I'm not specialized but I bend towards a vlksm-type medal, coz of the mention "droujbi" for friendship. Thats a nice piece, numbered.

I asked my dad and he says it's a badge for "Strenghtening foreighn relations"

Gentlemen,

The text on the badge says literaly: "For Contribution to the Cause of Friendship" It was given by the Soviet Friendship Society and came with issue document.

The letters SSOD (in Russian) may stand for "Soviet Syrian Frendship Organization"

SSOD stands for Union of Soviet Societies for Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries.
