Re: Red Banner,0265096,SU57 Battery Commander

265.095- 03.05.1945 Losev, Anatolii Ivanovich, Guards Captain 4th Guards Tank Army (Deputy Battalion Commander – 22 Self-Propelled Artillery Brigade, 4 Guards Tank Army, 1 Ukrainian Front )

265.273- 15.06.1945 Ilyin, Georgy Fyodorovich Military rank: Guards Colonel 4th Guards Tank Army

Looks like 4th Guards Army awarded nearly 200 Red Banner in one month.

Wow, they must have been busy.

Does anyone know any more about the fighting they were involved in during that time?

Re: Red Banner,0265096,SU57 Battery Commander

"The 4th Guards Tank Army took part in the winter battles in Ukraine in 1944 (Proskurov-Chernovits), then the L’vov-Sanodmierz Operation in the summer. It then participated in the Lower Silesia, Upper Silesia, Berlin, and Prague operations."

Kropstädt would be on the road from Silesia to Berlin.

Lots of Red Banners awarded as they rushed to Berlin.

I have #265301 on file, which was also awarded by the 4th Guards Tank Army (on May 20, 1945). Don't have more details though.

This is his Nevsky by the way:
