Probally my favorite set. Got all three by paid dearly for them. Do not know it they all belong to one individual or not, but it would be nice to think that one guy earned all these badges.

To my observation,

highest observed serial numbers,

I line - 25.924
II line - 20.618
III line - 26.183

The first number on all 3 badges are #2.

Can't find my scale at the moment. Recently returned from Afghanistan and I can't remember where half my stuff are located at, but I will post measurements shortly.

Guys,

Just to let you know, these are currently widely available in St Petersburg, and some of the details are a little bit off. Make sure to compare them with guaranteed genuine ones (there was one recently on a well known NJ dealer's site).

Hello to All,

Seems to me that the II and III badges are made from the 1935 badge.

The 1935 badge has raised numbers (1935). The 1938 and 1944 are basically a 1935 badge with the numbers erased and all the other markings engraved on to it. Had these badges for years and really never look at them that closely to noticed. Interesting.

Never seen a fake one of these badges before, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Here are some numbers:

Weight: 15.5-16g
Length: 36.5mm
Width: 33.0mm

With the exception of the weight, all three badges have the same length and width.

Dat,
the measurements from my badges are

I line : 15,3 gramm, 36,39 mm length and 33,23 mm width
II line : 16,0 gramm, 36,55 mm length and 33,13 mm width
