Navy presentation dagger

Hello everybody from Paris !

New member member on this forum, my first thread is about a presentation dagger. Few years ago, I got a dagger with ID. This dagger was presented to kontr admiral NikolaÏ Ivanovitch MOROZOV in 1953. He was not amiral in 1945 because he is not mentionned in Lyr'e's book, amirals and generals of the BMF. In french books, I found a N. I. Morozov who was captain 2d rank in 1943, chief of a division of submarines in the Northern Fleet.
My questions :
I am looking for informations about his life, awards...
Is it possible to research the dagger like an order or medal (the number is 157).
Do you know a good book about soviet daggers ?

I am sorry to say I do not know much on Soviet era blades. Yours looks just wonderful. Hopefully one of the real knowledgable members of the Forum can give you more information on your dagger.

You can search Russian Navy archives by the name of the recepient.

Once his file is located - you'll have the list of all his awards and details of the service in the Navy.

Morozov Nikolay Ivanovich (1904 – 1965)
Rear admiral (1951).
Awarded: order of Lenin, 3 orders of Red Banner, order of Alexander Nevskiy, order of Nakhimov II class, 2 orders of Red Star, medals.

In 1922 graduated from Sevastopol navy school "Объединеная флотская школа". Served on minesweepers “Yazon” and “Krasniy Krim” in the Black sea fleet.
In 1931 graduated from navy college.
From 1931 – 1935 served in Pacific fleet in various positions and in the end as a deputy commander of submarine “Щ-113”.
From summer 1935 served on Baltic fleet as deputy commander of submarine L-113. Then commander of submarines M-74 and later M-72.
From April 1938 through February 1941 commander of 23-rd submarine division of submarine brigade of Baltic Fleet "23 дивизион БПЛ КБФ".
From May 1941 commander of 4-th division of submarine brigade of North Fleet "4 дивизион БПЛ СФ".
From June 1944 commander of independent training division of Black Sea Fleet "отдельный учебный дивизион ЧФ".
From 1948 through 1955 commander of independent submarine division of Baltic Fleet, commander of submarine brigade of Leningrad's naval base "Бригада подводных лодок Ленинградской ВМБ".
From 1955 head of commanding faculty VOLSOK "ВОЛСОК ВМФ – Высшие ордена Ленина специальные офицерские Курсы ВМФ" in Leningrad.
From 1957 head of KUOPP named after Kirov "КУОПП им. Кирова".
In 1960 retired due to health problem. Died in 1965. Buried in Bogoslovskoe cemetery.
