Boxes For Soviet Awards. - Page 2

I bought two different types of red award boxes in Riga.

Older ones with "red cloth cover" and newer ones with "red paper cover".

Does somebody know in which time period they were used?

This is a nice question that interests me too!
I'm pretty sure the red cardboard boxes were already in use in the late '50.
I would like to know too when they were introduced the first time...

Now we have 5 main different types of Red Award boxes:

1) box with red cloth cover
2) box with red cloth cover and red cloth inside
3) box with red paper cover
4) box with red paper cover and red cloth insinde
5) box with red paper cover and red cloth insinde (better made)

I believe that in fact, you have only 2 types of award boxes. The other ones are simply missing their original inserts.

The first one (leather covered) is the type used for awarding "important people"; the red one is a bit strange, could you please post a clear picture of the coat of arms. The blue one is probably the one used for motherhood awards.
