"Young Lover Of Books" Badge.

I found this one and if it really is what the seller says it is: "Mongolia communist badge YOUNG FRIEND OF THE LITERATURE of the Youth Communist Union, enamel, dated 1960's" then it fits in one of my rambling collecting categories.

The clasp is like many Mongolian pieces I have, but I am far from an expert on Mongolian pieces - I'm still in the "honeymoon - very beautiful - no brain involvement yet" stage when it comes to other former Soviet/communist country's items.:love

Any of the Mongolian experts in the house?

Battushig gives this, somewhat unhelpfully, as "Pupils' Pin", his R 43.

Until a certificate with the name of the award comes along, this may be the best we can do.

Welcome to an exciting new addiction. You should get a copy of Battushig's book, the only good source around. (A well known NJ dealer has copies, and very few copies remain in teh wild.) Work is underway on a second edition.
