I agree..I would guess there are some very significant bars out there that can be had for very little cash. The plastic bars are a little ugly in my opinion, but these nice thin older bars with a few ORB's or ORS's on them are very attractive pieces of history. It would be great if there was a reference number or something on the backs of these that would allow an individuals service record to be researched. However I'm certain they would no longer be overlooked and undervalued :)

do-it-yourself!!!

Gentlemen,

I received this nice set in the mail yesterday.
You can make up your own ribbon bars!!!

The two top ones (10 and 7 awards ones) and the bar with the OPW II and Warsaw were untouched. The bar under the suvorov and khmelnitsky III was made up by me to have some fun:).

So, I´d like to see in which kind of uniforms these would look more accurate. Help me please!

Christophe,

According to the statutes of this medal, there is no multiple awarding.

Although your general seems to be a heavyweight, how does the ribbon bar look to you? For whatever reason, I don't overly like it, even though I can't pinpoint anything specific.

Hi Marc,

That's why I have taken the pic and posted it... ;)

I have not the name of this General, even if I could find it. What is sure is that he was a "real" General, participating to the MAKS Airshow in Zhukovsky, amongts other officials. Not a fantasy guy, in all sesn of the word... I have taken the pic at a moment we were relaxing, under a temperature of 35°C... ;)
Again, this is a "real" general, with a "real" uniform...

The ribbon bar looked OK, sewn (attached ?) to the jacket. He apparently likes the un-official medals... The HSU is a wearer copy, with the back blank and "frosted". I have taken it in hands...

Cheers.

Wow, that was an odd bar. Seems he like to mix Soviet, Russian and other awards using logics I guess only himself understand.

If that uniform/bar had been for sale, I would have dismissed it as a fantasy bar - and many with me I think.

Maybe one was awarded by the Soviet Union and the second by the Russian Federation????

But this medal is no more awarded by the Russian Federation (even in the transitional period).
My guess is that it could have been awarded for joint military maneuvers (Warsaw Pact) and that our man deserved it in two different occasions (two maneuvers)...

Currently up on eBay. Starting bid is about $185?
Very interesting, custom suspension. The bar looks to be very well made. Maybe a well-to-do soldier?
I've asked the seller for a better shot of the reverse as well.

Is this sweet or what??? :)
