Guards Private Nikolai Loginovich Sychov, telephone operator in a signal platoon of the 3rd Rifle Battalion, for the fact that he, under heavy enemy fire on Blüming Street [actual spelling may be different, AdV] in the city of Berlin, enabled the combat units’ continuous communications. He repaired 3 breaks in the telephone line. While carrying out his tasks he killed 1 enemy soldier.

The amount of free research is truly unimaginable but bureaucratic mistakes can make things difficult at best. Then there is finding out about all the things "missing".
There was a group I purchased to a Guards Cavalryman, that I only purchased because I was promised up, down, left, right, A, start that it was complete. Five years later I get the disappointment of finding out it's missing two orders and a medal. Not so complete!

Yup, recognizable situation. It's a good thing that record cards are quite affordable these days. A number of times I have ordered a record card on a group before making the purchase, just to see if the seller was right. If the group is valuable it's worth it.
