Badge "Excellent Health Care".

I got this nice excellent badge today. Not only good-looking it has documentation too, dated 31 oct. 1942 in Leningrad.

Nice badge. The decree quoted on the paper is from the USSR Commissariat of Health. It is signed for, not by, the Commissar of Health.

Therefore I believe that this is an official badge of the USSR People's Commissariat of Health from the war years.

Medical badges

Hello everybody. Let me introduce myself first. I am Asjemenou from the Netherlands and I am very interested in the Soviet Russian army of WWII.
Recently I bought a few medical Soviet Russian badges. I do not know that much from the medical badges but maybe there is someone at this forum who can tell me more about them.

At the left are 2 pictures from 2 almost the same unknown badges. On both badges are the Russian word “Zdravookhraneniya”. I only know that this word has something to do with health care. The left badge has on the backside a serial number.
At the right are 2 pictures from 5 other medical badges from the (Russian) Red Cross and Red Crescent societies association.
From left to right; Ready for medical defence of the USSR, Be ready for medical defence of the USSR, Participant of the 2nd all union congress of the Red Cross and Crescent society. Both round badges are membership badges of the Red Cross society of the RSFSR.
I am very interested in any information about these Soviet medical badges.

Asjemenou,

Welcome to the forum! You are in the right place :thumbsup

Your badges are (left to right):

Excellence in the Health Care, first variations from 1935 were made in silver, changed to brass in 1938, and later to aluminum. I believe yours are 1938 and 1960 variations;

Three "diamonds" - 1934 Ready for Medical Defense (white border); 1936 Ready for Medical Defense (blue border); 1934 Union of Medical Workers (with cup & snakes);

Two round badges - 1930 Red Cross.

Civilian or military badges

Nota Bene, thanks for your reply. The badges of the “Excellence in the Health Care”, to whom where these badges conferred? Doctors, chemists or nurses? Is it a typical civilian badge or could it also be worn by a military doctor?

This badge was awarded by the Ministry of Public Health, so I would assume that it was awarded to anybody, who had something to do with the medical profession, except for the military doctors. At the same time many civilian doctors in the USSR also had military ranks, so I would not be surprised to see one of a medical uniform.

As far as I know, badges are not researchable.

Nice badge, Doc. I, too, have a modest collection of Soviet medical badges and miscellany. Here are two variants of your badge.

I'm not sure that this badge was exactly for Excellent Medical Worker, but I could well be wrong. Maybe more like Excellence in Health Defense? Maybe. And maybe there's no difference. My Russian leaves a lot to be desired.
