It could be the lighting or the patina, distortiong the details, but I don't like the crest on the pole, the visor and the face, letters on the reverse, etc.

Matthijs,

You really have a knack to post pictures that are fairly useless as far as authentication goes. From what I can see, I don't like the ring at all. Now, if you can improve somewhat on these, we may be able to provide more detailed (and definitive...) opinions.

Not really... :o

Anyway, they just confirm that the ring is not a product of the State Mint.

Now, here is an example of what is needed if you want to get useful opinions; sorry I did not have a Border Guard medal handy. By the way, it is a handheld long-exposure shot taken with a simple $100 digital camera :rolleyes:
