I'd love to, but as I never came to an agreement on the price with the seller, who asked much, much more than the price Alexei suggested, I decided not to buy it, so that piece is not on my collection... :(

It does seem to be. Apparently, there were only 200 of this type (Type 1) made, with a total of 700 awarded (500 Type 2, pictured in post #1). The seller is asking $600 for this badge and document. This badge is not like the crappy DOSAAF badges, but is instead a formal award with the same quality as most orders (and apparently quite heavy). I have yet to get a picture of the reverse, but I have been informed that it is the same size and it has generally the same construction as a Suvorov 3rd, with just the DOSAAF disk on the front instead of Tovarish Suvorov (and it's a bit larger too...)

You must have been offered by a middle man. I had a lower offer.
Actually, I've read a while ago that 250 of those var 1 were produced. Price is close to fare considering rariety of this badge. Document along should cost around $100. Did you see it was sign by Marshal Budenniy?
I would consider to spend such amount only if I really was into badges and DOSAAF stuff.

Dolf, I've ordered from this seller before and found him honest. Did you contact him and asked him if this badge was a legit one?

Sorry I might have missed the question before :cool:

Anyway, no I haven't requested any additional info on this one, it keeps coming back regularly.
I've also ordered from this guy before, and so far I believe I got what I've paid for, only cheap stuff anyway. But I'm not 100% sure everything he has is legit...

I guess that when a guy sells copies, replicas or just fakes and doesn't state it on his advertisement, that doesn't really matter if we ask: "Do you confirm that this item is legit?" or "You guarantee 100% that this item is original?"...
He probably will say "Yes, of course". Either because he intentionally lies or simply because he doesn't know.
So I still ask it sometimes but can't remember one seller replying "No, don't bid on it, it's a fake"... :D
