Stalin Campaign
And lastly, the Ударнику railway badge.
Question: Were these given out to pratically everybody who worked on any aspect of the Stalin-era trains, or were they more for a certain type of railroad worker? I just know that they are fairly common. Thanks, Phillip

These 8 badges ALWAYS were unnnumbered. There were more than 3 types of each of them. At least they never were solid Silver ones. Serial number and Silver as material are features of early Honored Railwayman badges. Happy New Year! |

Re: Recent Railway Badge Acquisitions
Keith, and as for the prices - well, that just depends on where you are looking. It seems to me that the documents tend to sell for more than the actual badges (given that both are authentic of course) and for more than $60. Some "wingnuts" are trying to get $200-300 for the booklets...:yow

Re: Railway badges?
I don't see any problems with both.
BTW, the first one is rare. |

Re: Railway badges?
Oh - I did not know that, because it`s number seemed to be quite high when I purchased it. And usually only low - numbered pieces are rare and expensive !?

Re: Railway badges?
Well I wouldn't say it is as expensive as say a 70th anniversary KGB badge:rolleyes:, but it is far more valuable than the $30-$40 unnumbered, mirror(ish) reverse. I think these were the ones produced while Stalin was still alive. I'd have to check.

Re: Railway badges?
Saying "rare" I did not mean very expencive (thousends of $$$) :D
It is more difficult to find comparing to unnumbered. I think that the price of this badge (taking in consideration it's condition) approx. $70.00 up to $100.00. |
