Orders of the USSR (Kutsenko)

Although this book is not new, still very important source of information.
Almost 400 pages, many photos. Most of the text is in Russian, but the book also contains brief explanations in English.

Copies are very hard to find, and are numbered.
If you can find a copy, BUY IT. It's a great book, and will serve you well.

Gentlemen,

Is this the famous Kutsenko book, which either Muzalevsky as well as PMD used as a reference for their own books?
I know Kutsenko has a few other books published, that's why I'm asking if this one is THE Book.

Can you please let me know when it was published and if today it's still a useful reference?

Also does anyone know if it was translated in English or if at least the English explanations of the original posted by Tal is sufficient, or even if an eventual more recent edition has more text in English?

Hi Dolf,

It is THE book.

It has been published in 1994 (1000 numbered copies; mine is the 0758 one).

A good book for chronologies and physical datas for orders (weight, size, metal content...). The quality of the pics is not good enough to be really helpful.
English translation is short compared to the russian text.
But, IMHO, worthwile !! ... in complement of others... :)

Never heard of a new edition... :o

Many thanks for the valuable info buddy!

I was told by someone not from this Forum that having PMD's Guide and Muzalevsky & Shishkov books, I wouldn't need this one.
The reasons presented to me were that it would be too old, even more out of date than the previous two mentioned and with very poor pics! :confused:

Apparently from your brief description what makes it worthwile in complement of others is the fact it contains unique description, am I right?

Just for a clarification, this Kutsenko's book dates from 1994, then PMD's Guide from 1997 and finally Muzalevsky & Shishkov books from 2000, right?

Anyway, do you know if it's still possible to find this Kutsenko's book for sale these days?

Dolf,

If you have PMD and Muzalevsky & Shishkov books, it's OK !! Just regularly consult the Mondvor website for updates !! ;) .

If you like old historical books (I collect them), this one is interesting, but won't bring you a lot for collecting. :rolleyes:

Last point : for what I can see, Muzalevsky & Shishkov's book is dated and published in 2000, but seems to have been finished in 1996 (see diploma inside).
