Re: Tank Classification badges

I found in Avers 8 they were awarded from 1954 to 1961.

Re: Tank Classification badges

Nice badge. How much are they going for recently? Are these scarce?

In fact I know they're form the 50's (in L.Bekesi book "soviet uniforms" etc... this badge is pictured together with the 1950's tunic for a tank official, the grey one with black neck and lapel...model M1955 ??? )
Btw it's from YEARS I can't see one on E...!!! the last I saw was sold by an US seller and for a price around 40 $ if my memory is not tricking me.

Best regards

Daniele

Re: Tank Classification badges

Andreas,

I haven't seen any fakes yet. I believe your first badge originally had a screwback attachment.

No, I don´t think so. They are soviet ones. There are badges with cars, they look similar, they are not soviet made.

best regards

Re: Tank Classification badges

I am no expert at badges. However, I got one of those as Hungarian from a friend of mine who knows quite much about soviet badges. He wanted less for those than for screwback (surely soviet) ones.
Don't know if they are Hungarian, but...
However, those were introduced in SU in 1954. The radiooperators' specialist badges introduced in 1958 still had screw attachment, while the all-branch specialist badges introduced in 1968 were pinback. I don't think they would change screw to pin within that 10yrs..

Also note that this isn't typical soviet pinback. m68 badges had safety pins. I think the same was with e.g. private/NCO badges introduced in 50's.

You´re right about the safety pin, but the pin of this piece looks like it´s repaired. So it could be still soviet after all, just with a replacement pin.
