M1940 Generals gimnastiorka?

I have a simple question, did soviet generals in ww2 wear the "gimnastiorka" or just the 5 button tunic? I would be thankful for any help!

Probably usually the 5 button field kitel, at least after 1943, but there are period photos that show generals, including some quite senior, wearing pullovers. It may have been for comfort and cleaning convenience or also to send a message to their officers that they were in the soup with them.
Because pullovers for generals were fairly standard in the M35 year, even for the new marshals, I would think that M40 pullovers for generals would still be fairly common.
Below are Lt General Golovanov in an m40 pullover and col general vershinin in an m43 pullover.

Oops!:o A laptop is great for mobility, but it lets me have the TV on while I'm typing and the added distraction can result in...well, the wrong smiley. It was supposed to be :thumbsup because it is a really nice looking uniform. Awesome good.:bigthumbsup
